1. Wipe it down

Use a watch cloth, microfiber or chamois cloth to gently wipe down your steel watch, on its dial and bracelet. These materials are designed to pick up dirt easily as compared to t-shirts and handkerchiefs.

2. Use warm, soapy water

Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a tiny bit of dish soap to it. It is important not to use very hot water, as the high temperature can expand the gaskets that keep water out, giving space for water to enter your watch. You wouldn’t want to damage a watch because you were trying to take care of it, right?
Dip the watch into the water and dish soap mixture briefly – just the strap if your watch isn’t water resistant!

3. Scrub

Dip a clean toothbrush into this mixture, and scrub your stainless steel bracelet gently, focusing in between the links. This will make sure any dirt stuck in the crevices is removed. Make sure you don’t apply too much pressure, or the bristles might cause scratches.

4. Rinse

Put the strap under warm running water to get rid of all the soap, as it can leave stains if not cleaned well.

5. Dry it

Use a soft, dry, clean cloth to wipe your watch dry. You can also use a hair-dryer on low heat to make sure there’s no dampness between the watch links. If you wear your watch immediately after cleaning, your body heat will also make sure these water drops dry up.

6. Add some shine

Dip a soft cloth in glass-cleaner, and rub it on your watch. If cleaning has been long overdue, you can even use a soft brush to clean between nooks and crannies. Detach the bracelet and soak it in glass cleaner for bput 15 minutes, if you can, for some extra sparkle! Remember to wipe your watch with a clean, dry cloth after you’re done shining it.
